Sports Secretary

FAQ

Common questions about how your calendar works.

What does the Secretary pick?

The games worth watching even if you don't follow either side. Domestic cups are matched to where your teams are from.

  • American Football Playoffs, Super Bowl etc.
  • Football Big matches, title deciders, knock-out games.
  • Formula 1 Important races, Championship decider.
  • Gaelic Football Big matches, provincial finals and All-Ireland Championship knockouts.
  • Golf The four majors.
  • Hurling Big matches, provincial finals and All-Ireland Championship knockouts.
  • Rugby Big matches, title deciders, knock-out games.
Can I see where games are on TV?

Yes. Choose your country under TV coverage and each game lists the channels showing it there. Channels usually appear in the two weeks before a game.

How do I change my teams?

Your picks are saved in the calendar link, so make a new calendar with your new teams and add it. Then remove the old Sports Secretary calendar so games don't show twice.

How do I remove it?

Delete or unsubscribe from the Sports Secretary calendar in your calendar app. Your other calendars aren't touched.

I'm on Android. Which one do I pick?

Google Calendar. It syncs straight to your phone's calendar.

How quickly do changes show up?

Fixtures are checked every night. Moved kick-offs and cup draws usually reach your calendar within a few hours; Google Calendar can take up to a day.

Why is a game at an odd time?

Some kick-off times aren't announced until closer to the day, so a game can sit at a placeholder time until then. Golf rounds without tee times show as all-day.

Do I need an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for.
